In a world where challenges persist for women and female juvenile offenders, a beacon of hope emerges through the mission of the You First Community Foundation. Our dedication lies in reshaping destinies, breaking cycles, and fostering opportunities for those often marginalized in society.
We are thrilled to share exciting news with you regarding our ongoing efforts to address period poverty in Shelby County and beyond. In 2023, we were honored to receive a proclamation from Shelby County Mayor Lee Harris, officially designating May 22nd to 28th as Period Poverty Awareness Week in Shelby County, TN. This acknowledgment is a testament to our collective dedication to ensuring that all menstruators have access to the necessary period products.
As we approach this year's Period Poverty Awareness Week, we are reaching out to our community once again for your continued support. Period poverty remains a significant issue, affecting individuals' health, education, and overall well-being. Lack of funds and access to menstrual products can lead to missed school or work, compromised hygiene, and even serious health concerns.
Your support and contributions will enable us to meet our goals and fund our mission.
